Before The Metros Collective (est. 2000) became what it is today, its founder, Krishna Reddy, was navigating the world in a very different uniform.

Fifteen years in the Indian Navy took Krishna across oceans and continents — to ports, markets, and cities that most people only read about. And while his fellow sailors may have been admiring the skylines, Krishna was quietly studying something else: the clothes on people's backs, the artefacts in the shop windows, the texture and craft of things made with care. He developed a sharp eye and a sharper instinct — for quality, for design, for the story an object tells simply by existing.

He also noticed something that stayed with him long after the voyages ended: that truly great products — clothes from the world's finest export lines, pieces with genuine character and craft — didn't have to carry the price tags the market demanded. That notion became a belief. And that belief, in the year 2000, became The Metros Collective.

The Journey

Krishna started where his conviction was strongest — export surplus clothing. In a retail landscape where brand names were synonymous with inflated prices, he built something refreshingly different: a store where the quality was uncompromised, and the price was honest. Word spread. Customers became regulars. Regulars became family.

A decade in, Krishna's world expanded again. His love for interiors and considered living gave birth to Metros Home — a curated collection of export surplus home furnishings that brings the same philosophy indoors. Premium quality, accessible prices, no compromise.

And then came Kathaa.

For someone who had spent years travelling the world and collecting memories, the pull toward the past was inevitable. Kathaa — meaning Story — is Krishna's most personal offering yet: a hand-curated collection of genuinely vintage and antique pieces, each one a real artefact with a life already lived. Not reproductions. Not imitations. The real thing. Objects that hold history in their grain, their patina, their weight.

Today, The Metros Collective spans multiple stores across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, with a growing presence online — bringing the same hand-picked quality to customers well beyond our storefronts.
